THE SACRED, SEXUAL, SINGING ROOSTER | SYMBOLISM

THE SACRED ROOSTER

A universal symbol of strength, virility, fertility, a solar symbol, a sign of illumination, and the ‘call‘ to awaken and to resurrect.

Proud, loud, bold, confident these are just a few attributes of the Rooster, also known as the Cock.

Friedrich Justin Bertuch, Bilderbuch für Kinder, 1790–1830 (Eigenbesitz), Fabelwesen.

The rooster is associated with the Greek phoenix, the Persian simurgh, the Indian garuda, and the Chinese fenghuang.

The above list of mythology birds spawn from the Rooster. With the rising and falling of the sun the Rooster crows in the morning and is symbolically reborn with the following morning.

The Phoenix itself has long been associated with the sun, burning itself to a pile of ashes to only resurrect anew.

THE ROOSTER, THE CHRIST & THE RESURRECTION

Unknown artist

The Spiritual Fire, The Great Awakening of the Kundalini energy rising up the 33 vertebrae of the spinal column, ‘ripening the soul’ through a Purification process transitioning from death to life. This process leads to Awakening or a resurrection, much like the Christ at age 33.

Mosaic in Basilica of Sant’Apollinare Nuovo. Peter`s Denial

The Apostle Peter denies the Christ 3 times before the Rooster crows (Matthew 26:33-35), meaning before the finial breath of the Christ (rooster) he would be denied by the world (matter) continuing to transcend, resurrect, awaken.

This also makes reference to the ‘Sun of man’ (Mark 14:62) in the Biblical Text. The Rooster is a symbol of the sun, the Number 3 (being the number for completion) crows are confirmation that the Christ is the ‘sun of man’ (also see side not for the meaning of Gever)

In some beliefs the Rooster is offered as a sacrifice, much like The Christ where the ‘shedding of blood‘ (Hebrews 9:22) is used to cleanse, purify, even to resurrect life and grant wishes.

SIDE NOTE: The word GEVER in Hebrew both means ‘man‘ and ‘rooster‘, serving as a substitute in place of man, that to ‘takeaway the sins of the world (John 1:29)

Another great reason why the Rooster is one of the best substitutes is because of the richness of the blood.

THE ROOSTER AND SEXUALITY

The Cock, clearing my throat is known for his masculinity and sexual stamina representing the capability to sustain the test, through the spiritual fire of Purification.

The red top of the Rooster represents fertility, virility, strength, passion, common knowledge, authority, purity, sexual energy, and Awakening.
